discovery

This past weekend I had a wonderful opportunity to work the Springfest event at The University of Akron through my internship with All Campus Programming.  My experience turned out to be one of those "ah-ha" moments that many people talk about in the course of their career discovery.  Throughout the entire day I was in charge of the entertainment, which was the band 3OH!3.  I was with the band from their arrival on campus to the moment they stepped foot on stage.  Throughout the course of Springfest, it dawned on me that this is exactly what I want to be doing with my career upon graduation.  I had an inkling that the entertainment industry was the particular field I wanted to break into with my public relations; now there is no doubt in my mind that is exactly what I want to do.  This realization has been life changing because I know that many people are still waiting for their "ah-ha" moment to come to them.  My hope is that everyone throughout some point in their lifetime has a chance to experience what I did this past weekend.  Everyone has a calling in life that they can be passionate about.  I strongly encourage everyone to find your "ah-ha" moment.  I promise this awakening will put everything you do in perspective and will provide you with a drive to pursure your dreams!

"I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you." - Oprah Winfrey
